CAPS & GOWNS:
Representatives from Herff Jones will be in the Art Gallery during all five lunches on Monday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 25. Please bring order forms from inside the packets you received during homeroom. There is NO handling fee IF you ONLY purchase a cap & gown. Price of the cap & gown package is $46.06, which includes $3.11 tax.

ARRIVAL:
*When? Be at the arena by 4:30pm on Monday, June 6th.
*Where? Enter through the 5th Street Entrance @ the front of the arena, where the light rail drop-off is. We HIGHLY suggest taking light rail.
No parents allowed at all... if they're dropping you off, they have to leave while you're at rehearsal.


DISMISSAL:
Dismissal will be at 6:30. You cannot leave before this.

When you get inside, find your seat and check in with your Junior Marshall for important handouts.

ATTIRE:
Regular school clothes. Do not bring your cap/gown.

Reminders for Graduation:


ARRIVAL:
Be at the arena by 3:00pm on Tuesday, June 14th. Enter through the loading dock off Caldwell Street @ the back of the arena. No parents allowed here other than drop-offs.
Doors open for guests @ 3:00 also. Ceremony begins at 4:00.

THERE IS NO SHUTTLE TO THE ARENA ON GRADUATION DAY. You need to find your own way there. We suggest taking the Light Rail.

AFTER THE CEREMONY:
Meet your family after the ceremony on the Plaza directly across to the bus station on Trade Street (where all the brightly colored columns are).

FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS:
All fines must be cleared by Friday, June 10th @ noon. Please return items to your teacher, not Tubb or Toth. If you cannot return the item, you can pay the fine with Mrs. Grier in the main office.
***If you still have Financial Obligations outstanding after NOON on Friday, June 10th, you CAN still participate in the ceremony, you just won't get your diploma on that day. You'll have to pay the fine in the office starting at 10am on Wednesday, June 15th. Once you pay your fines, you can get your diploma at that time.

ATTIRE:
No messages on hats, no corsages, no sunglasses!
Ladies: NO COLLARS. Be smart about shoes/heels. No flip flops or tennis shoes.
Gentlemen: wear collared shirt, tie and long pants….no shorts or jeans. No flip flops or tennis shoes. Wear socks!
Everyone: your tassle should hang in front of your right eye. When Mr. Bosco pronounces you graduated, you move it to the left.

If you are part of one of the following organizations, you may wear the pin/cords given to you by your adviser. For pins, you must wear it on the white stole, which will be gifted to you this year by your adviser.

BEHAVIOR:
No contraband allowed. Don't bring phones, keys, cameras, etc... nothing in your pockets, please. You will be wanded by arena security and CMS & CMPD police will be on site. Act appropriately - you won't get your diploma if you act out in any way during the ceremony.

NO GIFTS ALLOWED:
Your parents and guests cannot bring flowers, stuffed animals in to the arena. These things will be confiscated by the arena personnel. These are Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department and arena policies. All guests will go through security as they enter the arena.

HANDICAPPED GUESTS:
If you have a handicapped guest coming to the graduation ceremony make arrangements to drop them off at the main entrance at the front of the arena (5th St) where you arrived for the rehearsal. Arena personnel will take your guest and one other person to the designated handicapped seating area.
If you have HEARING IMPAIRED guests, please let us know ASAP (anne.toth@cms.k12.nc.us or monikal.tubb@cms.k12.nc.us) so we can arrange seating near our interpreters.

GUEST SEATING:
Please remind your families and guests that there is no reserved seating. No tickets are required. This is important…..no family members will be allowed on the arena floor at any time before, during or after the graduation program. Guests should remain seated throughout the program.
